‘The Conjuring 2’ Spinoff ‘The Nun’ Moves Forward With New Details

‘The Conjuring 2’ Spinoff ‘The Nun’ Moves Forward With New Details

The Nun is a spinoff of The Conjuring sequel, The Enfield Poltergeist. Since the inception of the Ed and Lorraine Warren series of The Conjuring films, the box office has been nothing but happy with what they bring to the table.

“Vintage Splatterpunk fiction!”

In The Conjuring franchise, The Nun is about the demonic nun that terrorized Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) first when she was investigating the Amityville incident, but it seemed to follow her to England when a single mother and her family of daughters and sons got terrorized by an entity, or a poltergeist, that wreaked havoc on their personal and social lives.

Although it is unclear after I have watched The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist on two separate occasions if the nun demon actually was in Enfield before the Warrens got there, or if the demon nun followed Lorraine Warren to Enfield and trapped the ghost that was terrorizing the family after the fact.

What seems like a plausible story moving forward with The Nun is a prequel, just like with Annabelle, that shows the origins of the demonic spirit that seemed to have been defeated at the end of The Conjuring 2.

Although details of the script for The Nun have not been released yet, we do finally have a director for the film, as reported by The Wrap. Colin Hardy (The Hallow) has signed on to take the helm for The Nun and James Wan will be back to produce the spinoff, alongside Peter Safran.

“Atmospheric and Creepy”

This will be the fourth film in The Conjuring franchise and the second spinoff. The first spinoff, Annabelle, was met with both critical and box office success. That of course mans that the spinoff itself will be getting a sequel. Annabelle 2 will be released in August 2017.

There has been no word yet as to when The Nun will be released, nor when The Conjuring 3 is coming up either.
