Godzilla: King of Monsters is a direct sequel to the 2014 hit monster film that starred the titular character and his nemesis, MUTO. Now that the sequel has been confirmed (as if there were any doubt), there has been another notable addition to the cast.
“Vintage horror fiction!”
News reports coming out from Variety show that Straight Outta Compton star O’Shea Jackson Jr. has been cast in a role on Godzilla: King of Monsters, which still has quite a while before it will release on March 22, 2019.

For those of you who don’t recognize the name, he could also go by the title, Ice Cube Jr. But that is not his moniker and he has set himself apart from his famous rapper/actor father who was a pioneer of the rap music industry in the 1980s and 1990s.
Jackson will be joining new cast members Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (Manchester by the Sea, Super 8) and Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring, Bates Motel) in the sequel film, Godzilla: King of Monsters. Michael Dougherty (Krampus) is directing the film and he also shares writing credit with Zach Shields.
Godzilla: King of Monsters is only one of two sequel films that the famous Japanese mega-monster is slated to appear in. On the docket for Legendary and Warner Bros. new cinematic universe will also be the face-off film, Godzilla Vs. Kong, which is slated to hit theaters on May 29, 2020.
It is unclear at this time what the details of the script for Godzilla: King of Monsters is, or who his nemesis may be. But it is without a doubt going to be a set up for his infamous matchup against the legendary American mega-monster, King Kong.
