‘Shelley’ Trailer Shows Unnerving Horror Pregnancy [Video]

Shelley is another one of those IFC Midnight releases that prove the films are just as worthy of major attention from the Oscars as big budget Hollywood features. Sadly, the Academy rarely acknowledges horror films in the Oscar races every year.

But that does not mean that horror fans cannot enjoy the magic of what is Shelley and the unnerving pregnancy a woman must endure at the hands of a wealthy couple that do not make life easy for her.

Read the Kindle book based on Fogstow Jamison Press below.

For starters, this wealthy couple does not live like other elites, but rather as left leaning eco-friendly people who would rather live off the grid in the woods than contribute any more to the carbon footprint. But having a baby is a different situation for them considering their age. So they enlist the help of their maid, a Romanian woman named Elena.

Little does Elena know that the pregnancy was going to take on a life of its own with a supernatural life force that starts growing inside of her. That is exactly what happens in Shelley when Elena becomes sicker and sicker every day that the pregnancy advances and things go from bad to worse for her in this vulnerable situation.

Shelley is a disturbing horror movie that echoes some of the past greats, which includes Rosemary’s Baby, Bless the Child and The Omen, with just a little splash of The Exorcist.
