Stephen King’s The Mist on Spike TV is just over two weeks away and a new trailer has dropped for the highly anticipated horror series. Although many parallels can be drawn between the TV and the original movie by Frank Darabont, there will be some significant differences to note.
“People are strange!”
As many fans of Stephen King already know, there is an element to The Mist on Spike TV that differs quite drastically from the source material. The title character in the show, “The Mist,” seems to have a more direct effect on the people in the show and appears to be making them in some way lose their minds.
As many fans of Stephen King have come to realize over the years, his stories really do have a lot of flexibility to them. That means there can be certain variations that still lead to the intended conclusion. That is of course how The Mist was handled in the film with its “all-time most tragic ending” for a horror movie.

For those who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Stephen King’s The Mist on Spike TV, your wait will soon be over. Although the summer is stocked full with horror TV shows like Fear The Walking Dead and other powerhouse favorites, The Mist will be premiering on Spike TV on June 22 at 10pm EDT.
It is unclear at this time if Stephen King’s The Mist will be a limited series or it is planning a run on Spike TV for multiple seasons. One of King’s previous TV shows, Under the Dome, was scheduled for a limited run with multiple seasons, but got a premature axe due to low ratings.
“Vintage horror fiction!”
