The Walking Dead is now going somewhere that only its younger cousin has gone: to the ocean. The water action for zombies on The Walking Dead is apparently going to hit the beach on Season 7 of the show this year, but fans should not expect the same kind of action they saw on Fear The Walking Dead this year.
The company that films The Walking Dead has been given permission to film their new scenes for Season 7 along the beach at Jekyll Island and the core group might have some new characters that will have some interesting storylines, according to Jacksonville News.

Many fans of The Walking Dead have long wondered why people did not make a break for the beach to star with when the show first opened on AMC way back in 2010. Although they were quite a long drive away from the beach when they were in Atlanta, they still made their way all the way to Alexandria, which is quite a bit further.

It does seem like a good plan to hit the ocean and stay away from the zombies on The Walking Dead, maybe for just enough time to let them starve or decay to death. But that would also ruin The Walking Dead as a show and a comic book.
“We’ve definitely had a busy few years and this spring and summer has been a culmination of a lot off different projects in the film industry,” Scott McQuade, President and CEO of the Golden Isles Convention and Visitors Bureau, told Jacksonville News.

The Walking Dead will be back on AMC for fans on October 23. The wait for the big cliffhanger scene will be over in that very first episode and fans will get to see who Negan killed with his bat.
