New ‘Amityville’ Footage Is Terrifying [Video]

Amityville is the name that has been synonymous with terror now for over 40 years. With a new trailer that rolled out with actress Bella Thorne, the raw terror sets in for an early summer surprise.

“People are strange!”

Horror fans will be delighted to hear that Amityville: The Awakening has been scheduled for release on June 30, but there is also the possibility that the date could get pushed back once again. The reasons for that are unclear, but us horror fans are keeping our fingers crossed that it will stay intact at the current date.

Previous incarnations of the Amityville: The Awakening trailer were okay at best, but this new trailer really seems to lift the bar and takes terror to a new level. That may be due to the lackluster response that the production company and studio were getting from the first Amityville: The Awakening trailer.

Bella Thorne is hot and active in her debut as a goth character in the new trailer for Amityville: The Awakening. It also seems to play well for Shameless actor Cameron Monaghan, who is innocent in the film but still plays the devilish vessel as a bed-ridden cripple with some sort of serious medical condition.

Nevertheless, it has been 40 years since the original Amityville Horror rocked the big screens and terrified audiences across the world with its take on what was reported to be a true story.

“Vintage horror fiction!”

As many horror fans may already know, the infamous Amityville house was in fact a case file with the Warrens back in the 1970s, in real life. With all of the buzz surrounding the current slate of films coming out in The Conjuring franchise (all reportedly based on a true story), that makes Amityville: The Awakening a hot property for the horror film market… if done right.

But don’t take my word for it. Check out the terrifying international trailer for Amityville: The Awakening below and make sure to let me know what you thought of it in the comments.
